DESIGN PROJECT
Backstage backstage..... There is something really good about working in the backstage. You just work, you do not have to get out in front of many people. I literally enjoyed working backstage starting from casting, fitting, hair and make-up. You say to your models about the concept of your clothes and ask them if they can show that through their catwalk on the stage. Yes, they easily showed me and the guests the message i wanted to deliver through my designs. As it was my first show, everything was the first experience and hopefully, this is not my last.
I am not going to talk about the design itself in detail here, but hair and make-up of the presentation.
Who is the girl wearing my design?
She is very feminine, chic and sophisticated young lady who is very strong and independent, yet, rather vulnerable.
HAIR
for hair i wanted to create the feminine, chic and sophisticated side of that girl through messy and very low bun.
Maybe this look can be called " I do not care but i am still chic" :).
1. To create this look, i started dividing the hair in the middle and curled using big curling wand. You do not need to curl the root of the hair but from the middle to the tip of the hair.
2. Then i applied some styling mousse to keep the shape of the curl and created loose low bun and secured it with the bobby pin.
3. To make it more messy, just pull out few hair along your chin and there you have the messy, low bun.
MAKE UP
I wanted to show the strong independent side of my girl through strong eye and brow make-up.
1. Brow- The strong brow has been strong for couple of seasons for make- up and it is still been strong. The brow of my girl is strong but the shade is one tone lighter than her brow shade. When doing make-up i tend to start with brow to define the right shape of the face.
2. Eyes- I created smokey eyes for my girl. However, it is not too dramatic smokey eyes. I used darker shades of brown and mixed them. For this look, lower eye lid shade was more important than the upper eye lid. For my to create the smokey eyes for the Asian girl, it is really important to focus on the lower lid than the upper. I've used minimal mascara but no definer.
3.LIP- I have not use lip stick or lip gloss. All i have used were the foundation and the little bit of balm. As the brow and the eyes are rather strong, i kept the lip silent and nude.
4. Finally, I countered the face to define the higher cheek bone of the girls and of course a bit of baby pink blush to give a girly and feminine look.
Well, that is it for the hair and make-up ladies and gentlemen :)
Hope you all enjoyed :) Stay tuned for the next article about the design.
Lots of Love
